Dr. Yasir Qadhi

Dr. Yasir Qadhi was born in the United States in 1975. He earned a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston. Driven by his deep interest in Islam, he later traveled to the Islamic University of Madinah for higher studies. He first obtained a bachelor’s degree in Arabic from the Faculty of Hadith and Islamic Sciences. He then completed a master’s degree in Islamic Theology from the Faculty of Da’wah. After returning to the United States, he earned a PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University. Since 2001, he has served as the Dean of Academic Affairs at the AlMaghrib Institute. He has also taught in the Department of Religious Studies at Rhodes College, Tennessee. Through social media and public lectures, he regularly discusses contemporary issues as well as the fundamental principles of Islam. In a 2011 article, The New York Times described Yasir Qadhi as one of the most influential Islamic scholars in the United States. His books are widely popular around the world and have been translated into various languages.
